Vintage and Floral

Today I was on a bit of a mission, I was desperate to find some fabric to go with this quilt I’m making and so I ran through this HUGE list of businesses I have, looked local first but unfortunately it didn’t help. I did come across a business that was very interesting, nothing really like what I was after for my quilt but certainly caught my attention.

If you are in the market for vintage prints or you enjoy the lovely oriental prints that are around then this business is certainly right up your alley, so why not grab a cuppa and have a read 🙂

I’ve got a couple friends who are in their 20’s and just love the vintage fashion and they even attend swing dancing, they get their hair and make up done to look just like a 1930’s actress who has just stepped out of a movie, incredible.

Quiltsmith specialises in vintage prints, the ones you would find in the 1800’s to 1930’s, but not just this, they also do oriental fabrics and many other treasures including books, patterns and of course Block of the Month Quilts. If you perhaps find it a little hard to imagine what a vintage print would look like then think back to your grandparents or great grandparents (depending on your current age) houses and the upholstery perhaps carpet and even the clothing they perhaps used to wear. If you are still in doubt then have a look at the Quiltsmith website and select ‘Our Products’ and be amazed at the possibilities.

I think I found fabric in there very much like an old plastic tablecloth we had when I was a child, white background with colourful dots all over it, aaah the memories 🙂
