My name is Sarah Fowler and I’m the Founding Director for Squnches Craft Network. You may be wondering what Squnches Craft Network is and how it came to be, so I’ll tell you a bit more about myself. I’m a craft orientated person, I enjoy knitting, sewing, quilting, crochet, beadwork and many other creative hobbies, I’ve dabbled in more than I can list over the years and each has brought a lot of joy to my life. A passion lately has been knitting blankets, beanies and scarves and learning new skills with crochet, I share a lot of my latest creations on my blog which you can find on the website to read. The word squnches is used a fair bit in my family as another word for hug, except a squnch is a mix between a hug and a squeeze, so I thought it a very appropriate word to use as many crafty people are so loving and wonderful at hugs.

I created Squnches Craft Network when I saw a need for Australian handcrafted businesses and craft suppliers to have their own directory to allow Aussies to shop local and help our own people and economy, instead of competing with huge overseas directories where there was little or no chance of being noticed. Not only that but many of the prices being charged to list in a directory are unbelievable and certainly out of the reach of many small businesses, which means businesses are having to do a lot of marketing by themselves which leaves them even less time to enjoy making items to sell.

Squnches Craft Network takes much of that advertising stress off the shoulders of handmade craft businesses with our pages dedicated to helping which include our Directory, Markets and More plus Auctions and Showcases. We understand many Auctions and Showcases also raise funds for charities so we will gladly list any for free, much the same with Markets and More, many markets also raise funds for charities so we don’t ask for any payment to list any markets or events. Our only fees are to list on our Directory and also to advertise on our website. Directory costs are varied and can be found on our Directory Listing page.

The thing to remember with Squnches Craft Network is, we are not just a computer screen, I myself enjoy attending markets and having a chat with craft minded people and even dropping into craft businesses to purchase a few items for my next project.

We hope you enjoy Squnches Craft Network and if you can think up anything you would like to have added to the site, please send us an email, we would love to hear from you.
