Well it has been raining, cold and very windy here almost all day and I find there is nothing more relaxing and warming than having a candle or two glowing to warm your house.
I love having a candle or two out ready to light, actually I love melting some soy wax melts too and when I come across a new business or a new fragrance, I just have to try it and share.
There is a wonderful friendly business in Mount Gambier called Glow – Candles & More, they have a wonderful range of candles that I doubt anyone could walk out of there empty handed or leave their website without making a purchase. They also stock goodies at Rural Living Homeware in Millicent. They have a fantastic range and something like 40 different fragrances and even a vanilla soy latte candle in a glass made to look like the drink 🙂
If you are unsure of what fragrance to get or you are wanting to try some new ones but don’t want to be stuck with a huge candle that you don’t like the fragrance of, that’s where their sample packs come in handy. Glow – Candles & More supplies sample packs of 20 tea lights of their most favourite fragrances, each candle provides 5 hours burn time, so all in all that’s 100 hours of beautifully scented burn time 🙂
I’ve a bit of a weakness for a nice aroma throughout the house, some people burn candles, incense or even essential oils while a lot of people instead have those automatic room fresheners. I tried one of those but it made me sneeze and sneeze until the cows came home.
I tried general fragrance candles but you just don’t seem to be able to smell the fragrance until you are standing right over it, incense fills the room with smoke and can be a bit over powering causing you to open a window and blow all the smoke and fragrance out the window.
So I found a better way to keep a house or room smelling sweet, Soy Wax Melts. They essentially work the same as essential oils in an oil burner but you don’t have to worry about having it too strong or not strong enough, you don’t have to worry about spilling the oil on furniture, carpet or yourself. Also, soy wax seems to hold a fragrance better and its stronger than most other candles.
A great place to learn more about these soy wax melts is to have a look at Blush Soy Candles, they use recyclable glass jars for their candles which contain no paraffin or other chemical stabilisers, and they use only cotton or paper wicks which allow for a clean, slow burn allowing for excellent scent throw. The best thing about soy wax is its a renewable resource that is biodegradable 🙂
If you are a bit new to candles and soy wax melts then this is a wonderful place to start, if you are having a wedding and wanting something a little special, they can customise to suit. With 14 different fragrances to choose from, you’ll have your house smelling sweet for months.
