I have to admit that lately, despite all the hot weather, with a little TLC my garden has been growing well.
There are now chilli plants just about leaping out of their pots.
The Strawberries which were cut and grown from runners about this same time last year are now starting to get runners of their own and are going crazy with fruit.
Another plant which is doing surprisingly well is my Nelly Kelly Passionfruit vine, I’ll be over the moon when it starts flowering, I can’t wait for the fruit.
My partner’s tomato plants, which to our surprise have done better than expected, at least one of them has. Though the heat has gotten to it a bit, it is still very impressive for his first attempt at growing on along with the chilli plants. The spring onions are doing well too and the spinach has grown much larger than we ever expected and has produced more than we are able to keep up with, and then off to the right there is a pineapple growing, I love pineapples and thought I would try growing them from just the top leaves.
I also have another pineapple plant I am growing in a pot, I think later it might need a bigger pot though.

:::::::sigh:::::::: looking at this post makes me want to try my cement garden again. Wishing I had an actually yard though; i can never keep anything alive long enough to enjoy what I’ve grown. Congrats on yours – its beautiful!
Thank you so much, is it that you don’t have the time to water what it is you are growing? If so I can find some neat ideas that might help and inspire you to try again 🙂
I have heard I water too much, then I stop watering SO much, then they all shrivel up. Texas may not be the most hospitable place to be growing things (so hot and humid in the summer here). I tried bringing in all of my herbs to keep them out of the heat, but my cat decided he liked to eat all of them instead 😀 Any ideas on how to cat proof plants? I’m willing to try ANYTHING.
wow, certainly sounds like you have a bit of a challenge there. I’m in South Australia, nicknamed the driest state in the driest continent on Earth, so I’ll see if I can help you out there 🙂 I’ve seen a couple of really cool ideas so I’ll put them in a post just for you 🙂
Brrrrrr…..it is SO cold here right now…how wonderful to see your stuff blooming and moving toward harvest. It’ vicarious gardening while shivering 🙂
